Oil prices surged above $US107 per barrel today, the highest since May, as renewed fighting in the Persian Gulf and investor fears of a prolonged U.S.-Iran war rattled global markets. The yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury note climbed to 4.92%, matching post-pandemic highs.
