Canada's trade surplus hit $3.9 billion in June, its fourth consecutive monthly surplus, as gold exports to the UK surged to offset a 10% drop in energy shipments.
Q2 exports jumped 13.1%, the strongest quarterly increase since 2020, driven by energy prices and a 19.3% rise in motor vehicle exports.
Venture capital investment rose 17% in the first half of 2026 to $2.69 billion, the first year-over-year increase since 2021.
