Personalized mRNA Cancer Vaccine Clears Phase III Hurdle

Merck and Moderna announced what they said were the first-ever positive Phase III results for an mRNA-based cancer vaccine, intismeran autogene. The INTerpath-001 trial, involving 1,137 patients with completely resected stage IIB-IV melanoma, showed that adding the personalized vaccine to Merck's blockbuster immunotherapy Keytruda significantly improved both recurrence-free survival and distant metastasis-free survival compared to Keytruda alone.
