WhatsApp Bill Payments Goes Live Across India, Taking Aim at PhonePe and Google Pay

WhatsApp has launched bill payments in India, letting users find, manage, and pay household bills directly inside the messaging app. The feature is powered by Bharat Connect (formerly BBPS) and gives access to 22,722 billers across 30 categories — electricity, gas, water, FASTag, insurance, credit card payments, and loan repayments.
