Here's a number that should stop you cold: nearly one in five teenagers — 19% — either is in, or knows someone who is in, a romantic relationship with an AI chatbot. That data point, published this week by the US-based Center for Democracy and Technology and reported by HuffPost UK, isn't a fringe finding. In the UK, Male Allies UK surveyed over 1,000 boys aged 12 to 16 and found that one in five knew a peer who was romantically involved with an AI. Not just chatting with one....
